Stefan Mendrea – CEO/President

As Founder and President of Forest City Builders Group, Stefan Mendrea provides the strategic vision, leadership, and operational oversight that drive the company’s performance and sustained growth. With more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Stefan has successfully led projects across religious facilities, hospitality, commercial healthcare, big-box retail, and site development, delivering consistent results in complex, high-expectation environments.

Stefan built Forest City Builders Group from a small, hands-on operation into a disciplined, professional construction firm guided by a core philosophy of being “seen but not heard.” This approach emphasizes execution over ego, accountability over noise, and results over promises—principles that define the company’s reputation today.

His day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing financial management, accounting, risk mitigation, and contractual compliance, ensuring fiscal responsibility and operational integrity across every project. While responsible for the company’s long-term vision, Stefan has directed every aspect of the business throughout its growth and remains actively involved in business development and each project, maintaining a hands-on leadership style that clients value.

Stefan believes that trust is earned through consistency, humility, and follow-through. By living this philosophy daily with clients and trade partners, Forest City Builders Group creates a collaborative, transparent, and positive construction experience from start to finish.

Outside of work, Stefan is a devoted husband to his wife, Daniela, and a proud father of five children. He is deeply rooted in his faith, serves on the Board of Trustees at his church, coaches basketball at Medina Christian Academy, and remains actively engaged in his family and community.

Daniela Mendrea – Controller 

Tara Toolis – Senior Designer/Project Coordinator

Tara Toolis brings a blend of design expertise, project coordination, and client-focused service to every project. With experience in residential and commercial remodeling, she helps guide clients through the design and construction process from concept to completion.

Passionate about creating spaces that are both beautiful and functional, Tara works closely with clients to balance design, budget, and practicality. Whether developing design concepts, coordinating selections, or managing project details, she is committed to delivering a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Known for her attention to detail, strong communication, and collaborative approach, Tara takes pride in helping clients transform their vision into spaces that reflect their lifestyle and needs. She believes great design goes beyond aesthetics—it should enhance the way people live, work, and gather in their homes every day.

Mircea Danciu – Project Coordinator

As a Project Coordinator with Forest City Builders, bringing five years of experience in the construction industry and more than 20 years of sales and customer service experience. Throughout my career, I have built a reputation for providing clear communication, dependable service, and a commitment to helping clients achieve successful project outcomes.

Originally from New York City, I am one of six children born to hardworking immigrants from the former Yugoslavia. Growing up in a large family taught me the values of perseverance, accountability, teamwork, and respect for others—principles that continue to guide both my personal and professional life. My background in sales and customer service has reinforced the importance of listening, understanding client needs, and building lasting relationships based on trust.

Today, I work closely with property owners, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure projects stay organized, on schedule, and focused on quality. I enjoy helping clients navigate the construction process and take pride in finding solutions that help projects move forward smoothly and efficiently.

Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, golfing, playing basketball, and spending time in my garden. These activities help me stay active and connected to the outdoors. My Christian faith is also an important part of who I am and serves as the foundation for my commitment to integrity, honesty, and serving others.

Whether I am coordinating a construction project or working with a client to solve a challenge, my goal is always the same: to build strong relationships, provide exceptional service, and deliver results that people can trust.
